her grandfather, a master tailor, in recreating the old world quality and
craftsmanship she remembers from her childhood. The resulting
collections marry the sophistication and superb construction of adult
bedding with the color palette and sweet motifs of the nursery.

The beautiful Egyptian cotton damasks, for which Blauen is best
known, are designed by Margaret in-house and woven exclusively to
her specifications in Europe. Blauen's distinctive batiste embroideries
are produced and custom colored in Europe as well. Select fabrics --
from traditional textured piques, quilted cottons, and ginghams to rich
brocades and bridal satins -- along with opulent trimmings, delicate
laces, and glorious ribbons -- are brought in from all over the world.
Blauen's state-of-the-art factory, located in New York, houses all
materials and production to assure attention to every detail. Each item
is made to order and individually hand tailored.
